Therapy that feels like a good fit—for you.
Meet Our Team
Erika Ladwig, M.Ed., LPCC
Therapist. Real talker. Deep feeler. Let’s untangle what’s getting in the way—and make space for the life that’s waiting.
My approach to therapy is grounded in authenticity, compassion, and curiosity. I create a space where you can show up exactly as you are—where your story is heard, your emotions are honored, and your past is explored with care and purpose. Together, we’ll take a closer look at the feelings, beliefs, and patterns that shape your relationships and your view of yourself.
I blend psychodynamic and existential therapy with a warm, grounded presence. That means we’ll dig into family dynamics, attachment patterns, and past experiences—but we’ll also talk about meaning, purpose, and how you want to live going forward. I believe emotions are powerful teachers, and I’ll help you tune into your own inner wisdom with honesty, empathy, and the occasional well-timed laugh.
Therapy with me isn’t about performance. It’s about connection. I’ll show up as my real self, and I hope you’ll feel safe enough to do the same. I’m not afraid to challenge you when it’s helpful—or sit with you in the hard stuff when you’re not sure what comes next.
You are inherently good. You are worthy of love. And you have the power to build the life and relationships you desire.
Let’s explore what’s possible, together.

Starting a therapeutic journey can be one the hardest decisions to make. It can feel scary and uncertain. With my approach grounded in authenticity, warmth, and empathy, you may find that therapy becomes one of the best decisions you have made. I value allowing clients to move at their own pace in therapy, as there is no one-size-fits-all approach. When clients feel empowered to progress at their pace, that's where meaningful growth and healing happen. Trust and rapport are at the foundation of my work, and when these pillars are stable, the rest of the process naturally becomes easier. Because I invite your most authentic self to show up, you can expect the same from me.
I provide a blend of many theoretical orientations, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I am also informed in Internal Family Systems and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. My specialties include depression, anxiety, helping professionals, personal and professional boundaries, sexual health and pornography issues, compassion fatigue, secondary traumatic stress, burnout, low self-esteem, and life transitions. I also enjoy working with grief and loss, men’s issues, the LGBTQIA+ community, phobias, and performance pressures in athletes.
Outside of my work, I enjoy quality time with my partner and our two German Shepherd mixes. I'm very active in the sports world, competing, attending, and coaching. My introverted side loves a good book or building LEGO creations. I am a learner at my core who enjoys self-help books and podcasts that keep my mind fresh. According to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, I'm an INFJ.
Jessica Sorgenfrie-Wacholz, MS, LPCC, LADC, Licensed in ART
I’ve always been someone who notices subtleties—both in what is expressed and in what is quiet. Becoming a therapist felt less like choosing a profession and more like pursuing a calling. I’m drawn to people’s stories, to understanding their emotional experiences and helping them explore the inner parts they’ve been taught to tuck away. My work centers on welcoming the full range of who you are, with compassion and without judgment. There is no expectation of being anything other than human.
I aim to create a space where you don’t have to censor yourself or weigh your words. I want you to feel safe enough to bring whatever you’re carrying, even the things you’ve never said out loud. I’m comfortable with the hard conversations and the complicated emotions, and I’ll meet them with openness instead of fear.
I also believe laughter belongs in the room, even when things are challenging. Humor can be a reminder that you’re still here, still trying, still finding moments of light even in the heaviness.
At my core, I believe every person carries a sense of purpose within them, even when life makes it difficult to feel. Hard moments can blur it, trauma can bury it, and expectations can mute it, yet that spark never fully disappears. I hold a deep belief in the innate worth of every person, and I’ve spent my own life learning to honor my truth while helping others find theirs. You matter, and your story matters, even if you’re still uncovering what it all means.
If you’re looking for a place where you can slow down, show up as you are, explore who you’re becoming, and feel safe doing the work, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
Berit Menier, Intern
Hi, I’m an intern at Lachlan—currently somewhere between classes, a hiking trail, and the last chapter of a good book.
This year, I’ll be coordinating our Learning Collective and managing social media. I’m a senior at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, majoring in Family Social Science, and I plan to pursue graduate school to become a licensed mental health provider.
I’m passionate about digging into life’s big questions—the messy, meaningful conversations that help us feel more connected to ourselves and each other. I’ve always been drawn to spaces where people can be real, vulnerable, and heard. That’s why this work matters so much to me.
I’m a heart-on-my-sleeve kind of person who believes that real growth begins with feeling truly seen. I may be early in my journey, but I’m here with open ears, an open heart, and deep respect for the courage it takes to do this work.
Being part of Lachlan means learning not just about mental health, but about the power of community, reflection, and human connection. I’m so excited to be on this team and to grow alongside others who care deeply about the work they do—and the people they do it for.
