Cody Ashburn, MS, LPCC

I value allowing clients to move at their own pace in therapy, as there is no one-size-fits-all approach. When clients feel empowered to progress at their pace, that's where meaningful growth and healing happen. Trust and rapport are at the foundation of my work, and when these pillars are stable, the rest of the process naturally becomes easier. Because I invite your most authentic self to show up, you can expect the same from me.

I provide a blend of many theoretical orientations, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I am also informed in Internal Family Systems and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. My specialties include depression, anxiety, helping professionals, personal and professional boundaries, sexual health and pornography issues, compassion fatigue, secondary traumatic stress, burnout, low self-esteem, and life transitions. I also enjoy working with grief and loss, men’s issues, the LGBTQIA+ community, phobias, and performance pressures in athletes.

Outside of my work, I enjoy quality time with my partner and our two German Shepherd mixes. I'm very active in the sports world, competing, attending, and coaching. My introverted side loves a good book or building LEGO creations. I am a learner at my core who enjoys self-help books and podcasts that keep my mind fresh.  According to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, I'm an INFJ.
